There is a way to navigate through the posts without having to read the old posts again to find out where you left off. When you want to keep from scrolling down to the newest post, instead of clicking on the title of a thread, click on 
and you'll find yourself at the latest unread post.
It's a wonderful button that makes reading these boards a lot easier.
