The simplest cookie!!
Simply roll out some sugar-cookie dough into a thin line (and yes, mine are a little thick, make your cookies thin because they spread), apply an almond shard (as a fingernail) then bake as directed.
Brush with a little cocoa-powder to make the hands look sort of dirty and use the tines of a fork to make the knuckle lines. Kinda gross, too ...... just perfect for Halloween!!

That's what my fingers look like after a days of gardening! A plate of these will be a gross addition to the party table. I think I'll try baking them with my grandson today, he'll be delightfully disgusted. THANK YOU!

if you took the end and cut it kind of choppy and irregularly ...... and dipped it in red sugar (while they were still very warm) or red jimmies ...... it could add significantly to the gross-out factor.

I'm going to add some blood. I was thinking of dipping the end in red food color paste before baking. I'm going to try red sugar too. We worked outside all day yesterday. We'll be baking the cookies one day after school this week. I woke up craving sugar cookies, so it might be today! LOL.

Ooooooooo!!
You can dip the ends in the jelly while they are warm ...... and it should cool like a dried drip of blood.
Way cool!! An increase in the eeuuww factor - how perfect for Halloween!

I colored the cookie dough cartoon witch green and used whole almonds for fingernails. I liked the color contrast better than sliced almonds. After they baked, I removed the nails, and glued them back in with red gel icing. Dusted them with cocoa, some got more icing highlights, bloody finger cuts and/or bloody end stumps. They looked disgusting and not a crumb was left. No witches took offense, they took cookies.
