i havent tried this yet but it looked so good and summer isnt to far away...its from hillbilly recipes i saw it on facebook
Fresh Cucumber Salad...stays in the frig up to 2 months!
7-cups unpeeled pickling cucumbers sliced thin (about 7 large dills) 1-cup sliced onions 1-cup sliced green peppers 1-tbsp salt 1-cup white vinegar 2-cups sugar 1-tsp celery seed 1-tsp mustard seed
We used red pepper
Mix cucumbers, onions, peppers and salt; set a side Put vinegar, sugar, celery seed and mustard seed in a pot and bring to a boil Remove from heat and let cool for one hour Pour mixture over cucumbers Put in jars and store in refrigerator Will keep up to 2 months
Makes 2 quart jars

Now this looks yummy!! The fact that it keeps in the fridge for awhile adds to its yummyness.

Makes 2 quart jars This would be nice for a church potluck but I would have to cut this recipe down to fit my needs.Thanks for posting this.

That is a delicious treat. My grandmother used to make it all the time and we loved it! She didn't put peppers in hers though.

I don't care for the mustard seeds either and would leave these out .

I've never used celery or mustard seeds, what is it about the mustard seeds don't you like is it a weird flavor? I might leave those two things out myself.

I'm guessing mustard seeds might give it a tart mustard-like flavor. I know celery seeds flavor things like........you guessed it, celery!

duh...I must not be thinking...I'll leave the mustard seeds out not really a mustard fan and leave the celery seeds since I like that.

duh...I must not be thinking...I'll leave the mustard seeds out not really a mustard fan and leave the celery seeds since I like that.This might work form my upcoming Halloween party in a couple of weeks.
