If you have a picture that you would like to use as an avatar. It has to have a URL address. Meaning that it has to have been uploaded to a website such as your MySpace, FaceBook or Photobucket account.
You then open your profile and click on Modify Profile. Paste your pictures URL address into the space asking for the the Avatar URL. Below that are two more lines asking for width and height. The maximum is 100. If your picture is taller then it is wide then you would make the width a smaller number than the height. I usually try 85 wide by 100 tall. Then click on Modify. The picture may or may not come up right away. You may have to refresh the page. If it doesnt look right then adjust your numbers and repeat.
